- In the computer lab, students will continue their research on their chosen individual. They should take notes on the person’s general biography, important contributions, hardships they faced, etc. Child-friendly videos to help the students with their research:
a. Civil Rights
b. Brown Vs. Board of Education
c. Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Students have the choice whether to work in groups or individually. If they work in a group, they should create a short play relating to a key moment in the person’s life that they will later reenact (about 10 minutes). Students should be divided into individual roles and tasks such as: Narrator, Main Character, etc. All members should participate in writing the play. Individuals not choosing to be in a group can either write a poem, create a song or song/dance, or create a tribute in memory of the person, making sure to include key details about the individual.

- Research other important individuals during the Civil Rights Movement (those in sports, politics, etc.) Teacher can give names of individuals
- Research individuals who are working towards eliminating racism in our current time period or even our community
